Woodturning merely begins on the lathe. I take what I see, let the image percolate through my imagination and translate the result to a tangible work that can be held in one’s hands. It becomes a visual and tactile experience for both the maker and the public. Some pieces take months or years to develop. Others spring out in final form. Wood is a living medium. One must account for the influence of its physical properties on the design and creative process. For me, there is great pleasure is in both the conception and the creation. I hope the results speak to you.
